The problem is with an LG Model: CED-8042B CDR/RW Drive.
When bought the drive ran perfect... for about 6 months... it was then installed into another PC, which was tested and ran/burned fine.
Has been installed in the PC for about a year and a half... and hasent been used since it was first installed and tested.
Now, while trying to use it and burn a disk... I discover that it does not read any CD. It dosent matter if it's a CD-r/rw or Music or a store bought application. It does not read any CD.
Took the drive apart, seems to be spinning fine... the laser moves as it should. I also cleaned the lens with alchole... and still nothing.
The Windows sees the drive, but just does not read the CD.
What could be the problem and how would I be able to fix somthing like this?
Thanks!
