  • Can you mount a HDD on it's side ?

This might be an odd question, but....

Can you mount a HDD on it's side ? :?:

ie: Most cases mount the HDD's flat.
But could you stack 'em like books on a book case ?
    Know what I mean ??

Edit : This way heat can rise freely....Not into the next HDD above.
Edit #2 : I've been thinking about building a custom case.

As a matter of fact, the Lian-Li PC60 series cases have that type of mounting setup for the hard drive bays.

Ouch... that was a nasty comparison. Lian-Li to Compaq. :wow:

                I think you're wrong.
Lian-Li makes cases, which means nothing. Compaq makes computers that people, many people use every day. If they have no problems using that configuration, it must mean that its working fine.

Never mind, I found "a few" reviews.....
I wonder if I could buy the HDD cage and its mounting bracket ? That would be perfect !

Kingwin also uses the same design. They also place them at the bottom of the case so the intake fans blow right over them.

Kingwin or Superflower in google will get you some pics. They have since discontinued the case and I am getting one of the last ones with the Blk/gld accented front ones around!!! whoooo hoooo.

                          Anyway, its a great design.
