    is it true that windows XP only allows 768 RAM to be used weather u have 768 or more?

    No, it is false. WinXP will theoretically address up to 16GB of memory, but most modern motherboards will only support upwards of 4GB unless you are looking at high-end server boards.

        Windows 9x has issues with more than 768, it won't boot. but there are ways around it, maxmem setting in msconfig is one of the simpler.
