CD-RW/DWD-R combo

I'm thinking of a buying a CD-RW/DWD-ROM combo when i build a new system cos it will save me a bit of cash. But i've noticed that most people have 2 drives - one CD-RW/DWD-RW and one CD-ROM/DWD-ROM. It would make more sense to me to use the RW drives for everything.
I've heard rumours that RW drives uses a high intensity laser that shouldn't be used for reading as they could damge discs. Is this fact or fiction?

most people have two drives to make copying easier and to reduce disc swapping

Guys, I try to get all the spam I see but I do miss a few sometimes. When you see a spam message embedded in a thread, you can get with either myself or lsdmeasap since we both troll the forums regularly looking for this crap. Just send a PM and we can remove the offending trash.

Obviously you were there with your finger on the buzzer when I reported it Darthtanion. I would have done it much earlier but when I checked my email this morning I was standing in the middle of a paddock holding my wirless Modem in the air trying to get signal so I could get a an email, so it was to hard to log into TT while holding my Lappy and Modem. lol.
