Hi guys, I'm getting higher temps lately, not sure why. When I built my rig in september 2012, it would idle at 34-36C, even after overclocking to 4.0Ghz. It rises to 42-45C while gaming and rendering, which I think is good. However the last 1-2 weeks, every time start rendering it hits 52-56C, even saw 60C+. I've got the corsair h100 liquid cooling too, even maxing my fan speeds makes no difference. The radiator is mounted to the top of my haf912, with 2 on top of the case pulling air up through the radiator and out. I have 200mm fan in the front pushing air in, 1 120mm in the back pulling out and the side 120mm blowing in. What do you guys think is happening? Am in need of a new heatsink?

    OC info:
4.4Ghz(I don't remember keeping it at 4.4, could be my prob?)
    Vcore 1.260v

    My system:

    i5-2500k
    Asus P8Z77-V Pro
    Corsair H100
    G.Skill Sniper 16gb 1866Mhz
    Kingston Hyper X 3K SSD 120gb
    Seagate 1.5TB 7200rpm 6Gbs
    Kingwin Lazer LZ-1000W
    Haf 912
    Windows 7 Ultimate

      Re: issues cooling i5-2500k

Well shortly after posting this thread, my h100 completely stop functioning. My cpu started hitting 80C, was trying to set the clock speed back to stock when it failed. Luckely I still have my stock cooler, waiting for RMA now. Wazza, was looking around and it looks like your right. How are you running 3770k at 4.8 with just air cooling, silver arrow that good? I live in az and my room sits at 82F, what cooler you recommend for coolest possible temp? I'm looking at the swifttech apogee drive 2.

I have de-lidded my chip and replaced the paste under the metal cap

sandybridge is soldered though so you wont need to do that, silver arrow is a great cooler but its huge,so make sure you have low profile ram and a case wide enough for it to fit
