you might aswell go for the 3770k,if you do alot of video editing the hyperthreaded chip 4 cores/8 threads will be faster than the non threaded 3570k cpu

clock for clock the 3770k is faster than the 2600k,be sure to flash the bios to the latest f10b when you get the mb,improved alot of things for me,hope this helps

      Thanks for the quick response.

I guess my concern with the i7 3770k was talk about heat spikes when overclocking.
      Thanks again for the info

it depends whether the silicon gods smile upon you and you get a decent chip, plus you need a top end air cooler or sealed watercooled unit and you should be fine, this chip runs about the same if not slightly cooler than my 2600k,

Yeah that's what i kinda figured...i have that closed loop water cooler which has 240x120 rad...so i should be able to handle heat fairly good.

ps. btw i just added your youtube channel to my htpc so i can watch in 1080p on my 46inch...nice videos...

Re: i7 2600k vs i7 3770k which? for new build...

Might be a bit late now but

from what ive seen.. 2600k clocks about the same as a 2500k or whatever the newest incarnation of that is.

The ivy cpu's apparently cant hold the same overclock speed at the same temp..but things equal out cos they are a little better at the same clock speed.

                Case:
Well if you can get the cooling thru it ok and its big enough, thas good.

Corsair psu:..there were some bad reviews on corsair , even tho they are a mainstream supplier, on their latest 650w units being underspecced for what was quoted and if you are thinking of overclocking AND ever adding a second gx card, you should be considering 750w..

Gx: a 570.. while better than a 460 gtx unclocked..there isnt much in it and the designation is a bit old now altho the card is still expensive.
For a single gx card ,consider the hi end 600 nvidia or amd stuff to future proof a bit .
Eg my 2 460's outperform ~= a single 580 for lower cost(if they were all still available).

The z77 board(s) ..no idea on .,but for things like pcie 3 there isnt much out there to use it.

The 4x4 gb ram,not sure on the logic of that, tho my ddr3 gskill,1600 2 sticks seem to overclock ok and with an ivy cpu you might get higher speeds/performance.

2 sticks would be easier to clock up , not like you could go quad channel.

edit; I read somewhere that the 2500k is going to hit EOP in march 2013.I dont know if something similar applies to the 2600k.
