Core i7 960 Boxed Cpu Not Available?

I'm looking to build a new Core i7 Socket 1366 system. I was sort of interested in the 960 cpu but even though Intel lists both a boxed part (BX80601960) and an OEM part (AT80601002727AA) I can't find any retailers here (in the USA) who have the boxed part. I've always been a little put off by oem cpu's that only have a one year warranty versus the three year warranty. This is rather an expensive cpu to have fail after a year and then not be covered by a warranty.

I've Googled and can't really find any information about why the boxed part is not currently available. Does anyone know what the story is here and when the boxed part may be available? Also any thoughts on the oem versus box issue?
