No it wouldn't. Consider for a moment, the earthly items are alot cheaper than Diamond. Gold, for example is ALOT cheaper than diamond.

And while we are on the discussion of things that cost alot, for small amounts, did you know that it costs $10,000 a Pound to boost things into space? Gold costs roughly $5000 a pound. And if you were able to find a pound of diamonds, they'd be worth at least $500,000 depending on size and grade. And so while Cubic Zirconium is alot cheaper than diamond, it still costs a pretty penny 5 gems the size of BB gun BB's for 40$.
