  • CPU-Z and BIOS showing different multipliers?

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out?

I recently built a new computer with an E8400 and ASUS P5Q-Pro motherboard and I've been trying to fiddle around with the FSB and multiplier. Basically I just wanted to get the FSB:RAM ratio to 1:1 while keeping the processor at 3GHz. So in the BIOS I went and changed the FSB to 400MHz and the multiplier to 7.5. The change is recognized in the BIOS, but when I run CPU-Z (v1.49) it shows the correct FSB but the multiplier is only 6 and hence shows a clock speed of 2.4GHz.

I think I may be missing something very simple, but I can't figure out what it is...
