  • p3 chip Help !

    on my p3 800mhz chip it says

    800EB
    1.65v

    all the other pentium 3 processors i see run at 1.75 volts. can i still use this p3 chip in any p3 motherboard? i removed this chip from a gateway computer

    I'm not sure, my p3 1 ghz runs at 1.75 v to. I'm going to ask a guy that have two p3 800 computers. I'l get back to it later...

      All Intel Pentium III CPUs (Coppermine) that are clocked 866MHz or lower run at 1.65V. The 933MHz runs at 1.70V, and the 1GHz runs at 1.75V. This is to make the chip more stable at higher frequencies :)

        You'll need to check the specs on the mobo to see if it is compatible. Chances are it will be, but you need to make sure.
        The reason a diamond shines so brightly is because it has many facets which reflect light.
