How to tell the difference

I have an older athlon 2000 and I was wondering how to tell if ti was a t-bred or a pally. Also just bought a new 2500 barton and was wondering the best stepping the made was and also how to tell if mine is locked or not. Also bought a gigabyte ga-7n400 pro2 to put the 2500 barton in. Was wondering if anyone could recomend a good hs/f since the capacitors are so close to where the hs/f mounts on the board. Any help would be appreciated.
