Looking for a new motherboard and came across this Asrock 960GC-GS FX it say's that it will run DDR2 or DDR3 , it has 4 slots it says that it will run 8GB of DDR2 and 16GB DDR3 now will it use all 4 slots for 8GB ram of DDR2? or only 2 slots? and I be able to use a AMD Phenom II x4 965

You can only use two of the slots at any one time, and this depends on your CPU. AM2 cpu's use DDR2 RAM, and AM3 CPU's need to have DDR3. So It is either/or and NOT both..
ps I saw something earlier about the Phenom NOT being compatible with this board.. Have a search, it was on this forum......
