BIOSTAR P4M900M4 478 VIA P4M900 Micro ATX Intel Mobo

I have a brand new:


BIOSTAR P4M900M4 478 VIA P4M900 Micro ATX INTEL MOBO

For some reason It will not power up and stay on. I've tried everything I can think of: Reseating all the hardware, making sure there is good contact between the heatsink and processor, reinstalling the RAM...etc...etc...

I've even tried resetting the CMOS but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Other hardware: Intel Pentium Prescott 3.0E Socket 478
2 x 1GB Wintec AMPO Ram
EVGA 512-P2-N757-TR GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16
400w Micro ATX Power supply

Any other info you need please ask, and thanks in advance for your time.

Do you have an internal speaker hooked up to the system (mainboard header)? If so, then what beep codes are you receiving when the system fails?

I just got the same board, got it hooked up and I am not getting any power! Checked all connections and had some friends look it over too.... Tried three different power supplies: Antec 300 watt 20 pin psu, Echostar 450 watt 20+4 psu, and a Seasonic 650 watt 20+4 psu... No beeps no lights nothing!



I am eager to hear what might be the cause other than a bad board.

If you get nothing, not even beeps, and you are certain the power supply works in another system, then you should set up an RMA for the motherboard. Beep codes will take you far in troubleshooting, but if you're not even getting these then your board is now POSTing.

I have this board and i have problem with cpu culer, my procesor is freeze, work with 20C. Thit any one knows what is that problem.
