  • New Mainboard To Dell 4550

    Hi, I have a Dell 4550, and now i want to change the mainboard.
    But then came the question "can the mainboard be changed on a Dell4550?".

    Specifications:

    - Pentium 4 Northwood 2,53 GHz, 512k L2, 533 FSB
    - Foxteq 250w PSU
    - Soundblaster Live! 5.1
    - Club3d Ati Radeon9600Pro 256 MB DDR
    - Infinion, 512 MB DDR, 166 MHz, PC2700
    - Western Digital 60 GB ata-100 hard drive
    - Windows Xp Home Editon SP1

    Yes and No. It won't fit in your Dell case so you'll have to get a new case and if you use the Dell power supply, you will need an adapter to make it work with a new motherboard.

        The case is really up to your preferences in looks. I prefer Antec and Lian-Li cases. Personally if I had the cash I would go for the Lian-Li V1200 Case. It has a unique design and looks good. As for power supplies, I'm a fan on Antec and OCZ power supplies. They may seem pricey, but they are good power supplies that provide more stable power and reliability than the cheaper generic brands. Asus is a good motherboard company and I would go with one (I have an Asus motherboard for my AMD system).
