  • My PC keeps rebooting for no reason :/

    I just bought a brand new MSI 865PE NEO-2 Platinum edition and a intel p4 3ghz 800mhzfsb 1mb of cache

The thing is... once in a while my pc just keeps rebooting for no reason, and when i play games it sometimes takes like 5 minutes and it reboots. I tried removing the cover of my comp and put an extra fan and my CPU is at 50 degrees celcius when i play games, with the extra fan...

The weird thing is, I get some kind of blue screen of the death when it happens... could this be an overheating problem? anyone know

Just a blue screen, or is there an error message? It could be an overheating problem, but an error message would more likely point to bad RAM or corrupt files of some sort.

well it looks like an error message and its really long text but i cant read it since it's like 0.3 seconds on the screen

and sometimes after it crashes, i get some windows error reporting stuff that says windows crashed or my radeon 9600xt drivers don't work and stuff

Try instaling the latest Catalysts for your Radeon, and disable Fast Writes and VPU Recover in the Catalyst Control Panel or Control Center. Hell, just read the ATI Catalyst installation guide on www.tweakguides.com.

I did all of that, VPU recover is off and fastwrite is off and i'm running catalyst 4.9 drivers (omega version)

it's weird because sometimes when it doesn't crash i get some error report that Microsoft Windows caused an error, but i didnt get this one for quite some time
