  • temp reading in bios , how accurate is it?

    hey guys!

    does anyone know just how accurate the cpu temp reading in the bios is? mine reads around 5 degrees hotter than MBM

    Its not accurate and the only way to tell is to buy a thermal diod. :cheers:

      the accuracy varies a good bit from manufacturer to manufacturer and even from model to model. The only way to really know for sure is to buy a hardware probe, such as a compunurse and monitor your temps that way.

        Your CPU does not idle in the BIOS so it will be slightly warmer than when read from software.

        However they both read from the same diode. If your CPU would idle in the BIOS it would give you the same reading as MBM.
