prolly for ppl that want a cheaper computer
I got the same mobo and never checked the dual channel option because I was a noob at mobos before I got here (hmzz...I still am :P)

this mobo costs about 85 euros
dual channel with about the same specs is aprox 100 euros
now I know, I would have gladly paid the little extra :(

its a little like SATA and IDE HDDs
SATA=faster and has been here for some time now, but most mobos still have IDE

The Magazines I read say that the performance increase with dual channel set ups is negligable.

The increase is in the range of 3-5% but I'll take whatever increase is available.
