You wouldn't have to use those speeds, I meant buy a 1333MHz kit, and overclock it to 1866-2133+

no guarantee it cam overclock that well and newegg, the best 1866 kit was CS 9 as well which is same as the 2133 kit i bought

Yes there is! Most all DDR3 is really 1333Mhz anyway, some may be 1066, but the higher speed kits are just tested to perform at whatever they package and label it as.

okay which ram would u guarantee me will overclock from 1333 stock to 2133 cas 9 timing and if it doesn't you'll pay for it and i'll give it to u

CAS 9 may not always be possible, but most decent kits should hit that, especially with today's acceptable other poor timings (Like 9-11-x, 9-12-x, ect). With those higher secondary timings many kits can even do 8-10-x, 8-12-x, ect or lower CAS, at high speed.

I have two sets of cheap 1333 Mushkins that bootup just fine at 2133 7-10-x, I have not stability tested that of course, no time as I was just checking something else out. But since they boot there I'm sure with a little tweaking stability would be easily had.

wow! so you're saying this would be just as fast?:

First off, I hate 4GB modules! The 1333Mhz Mushkin I referred to earlier was 2GB modules.

And yes, that kit may be able to run 1600-2133 using 9-11-x or 9-12-x, ect. Of course voltages may need adjusted as well as the timings, but just about any kit can do any speed/timings once you tweak it properly.

                See here, I just did a comparison for someone. This is a 1600Mhz 7-8-7-20 kit, running 2333Mhz CAS 9 @ 1.67V

Just buy the 8GB kits suggested to you over at OCN and you'll be all set, and your wallet will be fat and happy too!

i need more than 16gb ram and quad channel is fastest so i see your suggestion not viable but thanks :) already spent the pretty penny

Ya, I guess the Samsungs suggested at OCN wouldn't do it if you need 32GB. Post us some benchmarks for us to check out once you get the new memory!

Thanks! I just wanna see how 32GB benches out for ya!

If you have time maybe you could also test 8GB and 16GB then 32GB and show us how much that affects memory performance.

of course. in premiere pro? or what benchmark software?

You can check out my benchmark here:
                            Which is Faster? CAS 10 DDR3 2400Mhz or CAS 9 DDR3 2133Mhz?

I've got the ram to 2176 on stock timings
AID64 Cache & Memory Benchmark gets 21569 READ
Passmark gave memory score of 8945.0

Sandra got 51.11 GB/s Aggregate Memory Performance
                            also showed 20.9ns latency

Faster than the Test bench used here which was quad channel 2133 with 3960X CPU @ 4.9ghz:
Intel X79 Quad Channel and Z68 Dual Channel Memory Performance Analysis - SiSoft Sandra :: TweakTown USA Edition

I'm guessing because the Sandra I used is a newer version better suited for the LGA2011 platform

Soon I will overclock to 2400Mhz with the timings of the 2400Mhz kit and then benchmark

Very nice to see with that much memory, thanks for sharing! So, how much $$ was the kit you bought again?

Can you get full version of AIDA64, so we can see read/write/copy, if not no worries, just wanted to compare with what I get at the same speeds on X79 using 4x2GB and 2x4GB

                                I don't want to pay though :P

What do you get with Sandra? It is able to realize the full Quad Channel speeds, AID64 doesn't.
It was $599 so 600 when I bought it then they dropped it down to $400 days after i bought it, the *******S!

the 2400Mhz kit is only $500 now whereas it was $600 as well. they BOTH come with some free camera recorder too on NEWEGG
