  • Setting the QPI/VTT

I'm trying to find the correct setting for my QPI/VTT. I'm currently using a Z68XP-UD4 v1.3 mobo, BIOS update F6g. I have 2x4gb of Gskill DDR3 1333 Ripjaw dual channel memory. My system is overclocked to 3.7ghz using the Touch Bios program. I don't understand how to figure the voltage for this area but I have read that it should be in the area of 1.120v-2.000v. Right now I have it set at 1.120v. Before I had set it to 1.50v and I must say that I was getting very good performance. But from what I've read you don't need much voltage in this area and too much can damage the i5 2500K processor in which I'm using. So what is the correct setting for the QPI/VTT with 8gb of ram? Thank you for help in advance.

    Re: Setting the QPI/VTT

qpi/vtt can be left at stock 1.05v, NEVER use 1.5v!!!! it will damage the memory controller built into the cpu, only use upto 1.2v MAX but you wont need that much even with 16gb

with all the cpu overclocking done through the cpu multiplier and not the bclk it makes for much more stable ram and not needing half as much voltage as x58 ect,you should be fine with 8gb and stock 1.05v qpi/vtt only one or two clicks more if unstable but you should be fine

        Re: Setting the QPI/VTT

no problem,if you do get any instability and it blue screens catch the code it will be a series of noughts followed by or starting with 124 which means not enough qpi/vtt voltage and 101 means not enough cpu voltage

start with stock qpi of 1.05v if it blue screens add one/two clicks more and retest, but it should run fine at stock voltages
