Keyboard is Logitech Y-RAK 73 is USB but connected to IOGEAR MiniView™ Micro USB Audio KVM Switch (Model No. GCS712U). Keyboard is wireless. As computer is booting up keys are non functional except for delete button in order to access BIOS. I would like to access other OS with keys but can't. Also I am in the process of RMA.

Nevermind I fixed it. It must have been when I optimized settings that the USB keyboard controller was disabled and now it's been enabled. Thank You for all your help. And I'll let you know if I get a better product.

I received the replacement memory yesterday. I first ran the memtest for both and I did get errors. Testing them out individually on each slot I discovered that one of them is providing errors. Also I received 2 modules separately instead of together in a kit. So are they manufacturing bad chips or is there something wrong at my end?

"One of them is providing errors", does this mean that only one memory module has errors, or that one memory slot has errors?
Which memory test number(s) (1,2,...8) generates errors?
Are the Failing Address and Err-Bits values similar?
Can you post or attach a photo of the Memtest86+ error screen?

Are you testing with 2x2GB of memory?
What are the part numbers and specifications for the replacement memory?
Is your system completely stable when using your 2x1GB memory?

Yes one memory module has errors. As soon as it starts the memory module gets errors with memtest. When I first tested using memtest I used 2x2GB of memory and I got errors for which I narrowed down to that faulty memory module. Failing address and Err-bits? As far as I can tell my system is stable when using 2x1GB memory and as of this writing I am using the 2GB memory module I just received at slot 0 (running quite well). The bad memory module has the following information VS2GB667D2 335191 112105607. I don't know which number is part number but there it is. I'll try to take a picture but which test do you want?

More specific details are needed.
Your current module in slot 1 seems to be OK.
Have you tested the second module alone in slot #1?

To eliminate the possibility of a bad motherboard memory slot, you should test each module, one at a time in each memory slot:

1. module A in slot 1
2. module A in slot 2
3. module B in slot 1
4. module B in slot 2

These details are important to determine what is causing the problem.
Does your replacement memory have the same model number as your first set of 2x2GB ram?
Who sent you the replacement ram? Corsair? Local store?
It is unusual to receive two separate modules instead of a match kit.

The memory model information should be similar to:
Corsair CM2X1024-6400 1.90V ver5.2, 5-5-5-18 800MHz (your original memory)

I thought I made myself perfectly clear but I'll restate that I did perform the test as you have suggested. As it turns out the tests results in one bad module namely VS2GB667D2 335191 112105607 and the good one is VS2GB667D2 339134 11205407. Original kit was VS2GBKIT667D2 for which bad module was 5663673 11501500 and good module was 5663672 111501500. The original kit was purchased via newegg.com and replacement was made via Corsair directly. Also Search results for: 'VS2GB667D2'.

It looks like you will need to RMA the replacement memory back to Corsair.
See if they will send you a 2 x 2GB kit of 667 or 800 MHz memory. Your motherboard supports 667 or 800 MHz memory.
Check the current Newegg prices:
Newegg DDR2 667/800 MHz Memory, cas4 & cas5 memory
and you'll see that most 667/800 memory is less than $60 for a 2 x 2GB kit.
There's one Corsair kit (TWIN2X4096-6400C5C) in the list that offers a $20 rebate card that drops the price to $38.99 until June 30th.

If you can borrow a similar 2 x 2GB memory kit to test with, this would prove that your motherboard isn't at fault.

Well I finally got back the 2GB module from corsair today. I was able to test it out on both slots with memtest and everything went well with no errors. So I guess it took about 2 months overall but this case is closed unless something else happens. I would like to know if there is anything else I should do as far optimization is concerned etc. In conclusion I would like to thank all who helped, especially profJim.

It sounds like you finally have good, working memory.
The most thorough test is to first run Memtest86+ with both memory modules installed and then to run Prime95 overnight to ensure that your system is stable. With your system running with Optimized Bios settings, your settings should be OK, but maybe not fully optimized. If you post the screen-shot in step #4 from http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post295784, post #5, this will let us determine if any minor bios changes are needed for optimal performance.

My screen seems to be flickering. I don't know if it's the ram but I conducted a stress test using CST v0.20.01a.
These are the results.
Intel Pentium Dual E2200 2203 MHz
