2, 4, 6 is the correct slots to use. They say 1, 3, 5 in the manual because that is actually how they are labeled on the PCB of the board. White slots 1, 3, 5 (Physical 2, 4, 6) is the correct slots for using 3 sticks of memory.

You may or may not have issues mixing 3GB kit and 6GB kit, it all depends on many things. They will have different chips even though they are the same spec/timings likely, so it may give you hassles, maybe not though you will just have to try it.

Do you need 9GB? If not you may be better off buying another matching set to the one you have now

Thanks, well i use Logic so the more Memory i have the better since it can actually make proper use of it,also i'm getting into summ video stuff an it helps as well.I was really trying not to let my 3x1Gig go to waste an since i have 6 slots and can only go in 3's i figured get the 3x2,.I guess i'll get the 3x2 an see,if i get probs i'll just keep the remove what i have now an sell it or keep it jus incase. Thanks

Ya, I would go ahead and try. Then if not you could sell the 3GB kit and buy another 6GB kit to have 12GB

Or go the safe route and buy a matching 3x1GB kit for 6GB
