  • HELP! Laptop memory upgrade failed

I have a Fujitsu A6030 laptop with Vista Home Premium 32-bit and two (2) 1GB memory modules installed. I bought two new Patriot 2GB modules and replaced the memory. The BIOS memory test passed but the laptop freezes up as soon as it tries to boot the OS.

I put the original memory back in and it boots just fine.

I know the 32-bit OS won't recognize all 4GB, but it should'nt boot it? I got 4GB because I plan to upgrade to win7-64.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Find in the bios a memory hole mapping feature. Sometimes it happens since the OS can't recognize the total RAM you got.

Thanks for the help. I went back and bought some higher speed memory and it worked! Problem solved.
