  • How much RAM can it handle?

I'm running a Dell Inspiron 530 with Vista, Q6600 (2.4Ghz) 430W PSU, and 250GB HDD. My current RAM situation involves two 1GB ADATA card (PC2 6400 1.8V is all my system can take), and two stock Samsung PC5300 512MB sticks, for a total of 3GB RAM. My question is, can I pick up another a set of 2GB G-Skill to knock my total RAM up to 6GB, or will my computer not recognize that much RAM? I'm pretty sure the limit is way up there, but I wanted to make sure before I purchased. Thanks.

Have a look here: Documentation . Looks like your system maxs out at 4GB of ram. Unless you are using a 64bit operating system then you will have trouble using more ram anyway.

Run everest ultimate and let us know the chipset on the motherboard, then you can find out for sure how much ram it will support.

But you do have to keep in mind that you cannot adjust the NB Voltage or ram voltage, so even 4GB may give you issues
