i think that those tests will tell you how much is your speed and you can come to know that whether it is 256 kbps or 512kbps or whatever!
        whats the problem? :?:

I'm going to let you in on a secret I discovered, so keep it under your hat:shh:

          If you go to;

you can do a speed test, using the same test as the ones above, but there is no limit to how many times in a 24 hour period.
The test there only lets you do it twice per testing IP.

That way, if you want to check often -- it ain't a problem.
Handy if you connect multiple times, as in tweaking hardware & drivers.

          Don't believe me?
Try it and see, the results page is the exact page.
Now do it 5 times --- can't do that with the links above unless you pay for the priveledge.
The reason a diamond shines so brightly is because it has many facets which reflect light.

i think you meant Java Virutal Machine to load Java Applets.
download JRE from sun microsystems to load and run the applets required for the tests.

man, that second test is jibbed.
i ran the tests on the normal one, then from mr. c's botched one.
i got like half of the score i had on the normal one...
the good one got me 330/120, not tooooo bad...

                    LOL
Could be the route between somewhere as I get the same results on all.

ah well, it was worth a try;)

not exactly the same mind you, but close enough to be the same connection

                        OS?
What is your downstream/upstream supposed to be?
                        What downstream/upstream is reported?

Have you tried various test, at different times of day perhaps there are network problems?

Tweaking doesn't mean that you are BOUND to download faster.
All of the tweaks in this world can only make your system (or your internet connection out here) run with an optimised performance.
If you are already getting the best possible download speeds out of your connection then you can't better it, no matter what you do.
In anycase if you think that you are not getting what you should, then something can be done. As Mr. C said, post the info about your PC :thumb:
