laptop/ modem help

i just recently got this lap top

compac perasiro 1260 " i think"

well i just wiped everything and formated and installed xp pro

the thing is that i cant get the modem to work ive looked for drivers spent about 6 hours searching

in the device manager it shows a

compac 56k-DF modem and i cant get it to work for anything inthe world

ive gone to there site and found nothing to help me

does anyone know what i should do to get it to work

on the compaq web site there must be something if not just e-mail or call them. Also when you got the laptop it should of came with a Compaq CD with all the drivers you need for your notebook also can you say if this modem is built in or not??

yes the modem is built in


the laptop did not come with anything i got it second hand
