Problems loging onto hotmail, and ebay?
I have a very strange issue. I seem that when im using my DSL connection, I cant get my email from Outlook, or when I try to log on to hotmail. Both seem to time out. Also I cant log on to my ebay account. My browser just times out. I even reinstalled a fresh copy of xp sp2, no go. But I found that if i use my backup dial up, i can log on and get my mail. Everything just seems to be fine when im on dial up. So i reset my DSL modem to factory and still no go. Can anyone help, because this is becoming a hassle...

It sounds like your MTU is too high. If you're using a router, log into it and lower your MTU (max transfer unit) to 1452. Depending on your DSL you may be able to go as high as 1472 or 1492. Cable uses 1500. When it's set too high you can't access e-mail or secure sites.
