  • 802.11B versus 802.11G

I have an older D-Link DI-614+ Router and have 3 PC running on it just fine. I am adding another system in the next couple of weeks and will need to buy another wireless connection card or USB NIC.

The 614+ is an 802.11B based router and since I know the 11G is more secure than 11B, is that a big enough reason to upgrade to an 11G if I run a Hardware and Software Firewall, MAC address Filtering and 256 Bit WEP Encryption.

    Your thoughts.

Check this out as it covers an area you're curious about. Granted this is only one view of the situation, but it might prove to be a good starting point for your research.

Oh, the page formatting was a bit off for me so you might have to scroll down a bit to get to the discussion.

Well, I took a look, but it ended up being an argument between a couple of folk about competing technologies. I guess I'll keep researching though.
