  • Wireless Network Conflicts

I have a problem with my labtop always picking up another wireless network connection. It might be my neighbors connection but I'm not for sure. Is there any way to block out other wireless connections when there is on that's too close to yours???????

block out? You should simply be able to connect to the one you want, and leave it at that.

I've also noticed that some wireless technology (such as mouse / keyboard) sometimes creates it's own false network, which is picked up but can't actually be connected to.

if you are running windows 2000 or XP there is a service called wireless zero configuration if you disabled that your wireless card won't jump from network to network. or conversely you could just connnect to your AP and then set it as the default/preffered connection..
