it depends on which router you have. More than likely it has a built-in hardware firewall and in that case you would not need software firewalls on the PCs behind the router
It depends what you do. If you occasionally plug in other computers to your network, there's always a chance they can spread viruses over your little network (Blaster comes to mind). However, if you don't do this, or you can trust the computers you put on the network, then it's fine.
i doubt you have a router that isn't a firewall. they most all do network address translation, which helps hide you from the internet. in that case, no, you don't need software firewall apps. ;)
