  • Ports over a LAN

    Hi guys,

Is it possible to access USB ports (or any ports for that matter) on a separate machine over a LAN in Windows 2000?

Is there any software to do this or is this possible at all?

    Cheers,

    Chris

I don't think its possible, but if you plug something sharable (eg printer, USB hard drive/cdrom, zip drives, etc) to one such port, these can be accessed over a network.

      yeah what he said, plus.
Depending on what it is, you might want to VNC over to the machine.

It all depends on what you want to use. If you're thinking that you can plug in a joystick or something on one PC, and use it on yours, no, you can't.
