  • FTP Server vs HTTP Server

I have a problem with my ftp server for some reason.

To the user it shows up as an http server. Now I have an http server installed on my PC and its not running. HOWEVER when the person logs in to my ftp server via anonymous with IE it shows up as an http server or should I say a directory listing they have to use an ftp client such as cuteftp or wsftp. This is very annoying. Anyone encountered this before? I've never heard of such a thing. Got any ideas?

    a few questions:
    What http server you running?
    What ftp server you running?
What ports are the two running off?
    Do you have a router?
If so, have you forwarded the appropriate ports?
    Oh, and also your OS...

    thats all for now...

Yes I'm positive. He's all into computers like I am so I wouldn't expect that to be a problem. ALSO! I sent him a link to my ftp server so I know for a fact it was ftp://

But your just as confused as I am huh?
