Some of the X1550 cards required power directly from the psu. Does yours, and if so did it come disconnected when you put the DVD player in?
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

Does you gfx card require power? Check that you didn't disconnect the power cable going to the gfx card from your psu

The motherboard doesn't have the graphics card power cable, the power supply (PSU) for your entire case does.

If your graphics card does require power, you will need to plug a cable from the power supply into the socket on your video card.

                Re: Ati Radeon x1550 Problem

I don't think that particular model of the X1550 you show in the pic above req's power. At least I can't see from any pic's posted on the 'net that it does.

From here I can't say why it's displaying "vt-x1550pci256" on the screen and not proceeding past it.

Honestly, if re-seating the X1550 and the memory don't correct this I'd think it best to take it to a local computer repair shop and have them take a look.
