  • Blue Screen of Death Woes

During BF1942 and Internet use I'm getting the blue screen of death. When I play BF42 through All Seeing Eye I can only play for five minutes when my computer will exit out to the main screen and I get an error from Microsoft saying that there was a problem with my " appcompat.txt" When I play BF42 through the game's multiplayer mode it just completely crashes. The BSOD never gives a specific problem, but it does give me stop errors. Here are some of the ones that I have gotten when in the game:

    Stop 0 x 0000007F (0 x 0000000D, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 00000000)
    Stop 0 x 0000007E (0 x C0000005, 0 x AB2A2E34, 0 x AEBF7BA8, 0 x AEBF78A4)
    Stop 0 x 0000008E (0 x C000001D, 0 x 804E38A4, 0 x AC9CAC84, 0 x 00000000)

I tried to run System File Checker twice, but half way through both times I got the BSOD for two different reasons 1st: Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area, 2nd Memory_Management.

    Here are my specs:
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
    1.67 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD MS-6570E Motherboard
QUANTUM FIREBALLP AS30.0 [Hard drive] (30.02 GB)
50.53 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
    512 Megabytes Installed Memory
    Realtek AC'97 Audio
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 [Display adapter]

    I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check this link for some help as what you have there could be caused by several factors, http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php#0x7e , but do check your Event Veiwer for more information on those errors as it will help narrow the source problem down.

I looked under my event log and it displayed an error in the service control manager for event 7000. What does it mean?

Could there be a problem with my memory? I have a sneaking suspicion that the random reboots during my system file checker are memory related.
