VIA on-board sound

Errr.....excuse me...I think I've missed something here.....

I think the sound driver for the VIA chipset's audio codec isn't included in the 4in1s...There is a seperate driver for the audio.....Is that driver installed?

Yep, you're right. The 4 in 1 doesn't include sound drivers. However the reason it helps out here is that they include other drivers which provide general system stability and improve performance HEAPS.

AGP cards inparticular cause a lot of problems when the 4 in 1 drivers are not installed. These aren't just graphic related problems either. In this case one of the problems is the on board sound having "issues". Therefore installing the 4 in 1 drivers should fix up most if not all of these problems and help out the sound issues also (by correcting the problems that were causing the other problems !).
