direct sound doesn't work

Okay... this is for my brother's computer.. anyways.. i think his psu died so i replaced it... however now when he tries to play music there is an eror message that says that there is something wrong with the direct sound ... i reinstalled the driver for the sound card but it still doesn't work.. any ideas

Strange but you could try reinstalling DX8 and see if that helps.
