  • Overclocking sound card?

Due to the lack of overclockable components on my system (apart from graphics card and RAM, but then I can only change timings to higher values (not good) or change the frequency from 667MHz to 800, which, last time I tried, stopped the system even from POSTing) and the fact that none of the soft overclocking programs work on my board, I've thought about overclocking sound. I have an integrated IDT HD audio 5.1, and I was wondering if I could overclock it. I don't care what the result is, I just want to be able to say "I have faster sound than you do." (even though it won't affect the "speed" of sound).

Anyone know of any software that can overclock sound cards?
    Current system:
    - Intel Q8200 Processor (2.33GHz) (7x multi, roughly 340MHz FSB)
    - Intel DG45ID Motherboard (stupid locked BIOS >:( )
    - 6 GB DDR2 RAM (667MHz)
    - PNY GeForce 9500GT (750MHz Core clock, 1900MHz Shader clock, 500MHz Memory clock)
    -585GB SATA HDD (7200RPM)

lol??? I dont think its even possible to do so!

Since its onboard there is actually no CPU for the sound card, the main CPU i.e ur Q8200 does the sound processing.

Most discrete sound cards have onboard cpu's to offload the sound processing from the main CPU to the one on the sound card. I dont even think its possible to OC that card too!
    Asrock P55-Extreme
    Core I5 @ 3.2GHZ
    2x2GB G.skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600
    ASUS HD5850
    1TB Samsung SATA II
    Corsair TX650W PSU

      Damn. I wanted faster sound.

      Oh well xD

Sucks, you can't overclock my PC as far as you could throw it.

I soldered some wires onto my sound card and it now has the fastest sampling rate in the world!!!! Mwahaha !!!

OK, I'm kidding, but this post has made me smile :)
