  • Is this a good rig?

Okay so for a few months ive been putting together my rig and reading up on how to build it and what not.
At the moment ive think ive read enough and made sure everything's compatible and im ready to buy everything.

Will i need to buy any extra cords or cables for any reason? Or will all the cables that i need come in the box?

    Here's what im buying:

    CPU: Intel i5-3570K
    Mobo: Asus Sabertooth Z77
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler
    GPU: Innovision Inno3D GTX 680 4GB
RAM: Kingston 8GB HyperX 1600Mhz ram
    Case: Corsair 500R
Primary SSD: Samsung SSD 830 Series 256GB
PSU: Corsair 750W HX 650 ATX Power Supply

2nd HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" SATA Hard Drive
    OS: Windows 7 x64 Pro
    Keyboard: Logitech G19
Mouse: Razer Naga Molten Special Edition
    Monitor: Dell Ultra Sharp U2711
    Optical Drive: LG Blu-ray Drive
Sound Card: Asus Xonar Essence STX PCIE soundcard

As far as i can tell everything's compatible? All good to buy this and start building my frist rig ^_^?
Btw im buying most of my parts from megabuy.com.au, since im in Australia i cannot buy from newegg and megabuy seems to be the cheapest site i can find.

Re: Is this a good rig?

    Welcome to the forum.
Check to see which cables or adapters come with your video card.
Your motherboard probably comes with several sata cables for your drives.
You might want to buy a mounting adapter for your Samsung ssd unless you are buying their ssd kit that includes the bracket.
Make sure that your HyperX ram height won't have clearance problems with your Noctua cpu cooler.

Check out http://forums.tweaktown.com/what-sho...retailers.html for possible suppliers. It's an old thread but it might help.
Good luck with your new build.
