  • Help, my Keyboard/Mouse freezing a lot...

I have a USB Keyboard/Mouse thats plugged into the USB port next to the PS/2 port..

Ive been having freezing problem where my keyboard and mouse are non responsive.. My machine doesnt freeze itself, as when I plug other USB devices, it makes the sound..
Sometimes it would studder and make the sound (sound when you plug something into the USB port) and it works..

Ive updated windows, checked all the drivers from gigabyte website...

Anyone know whats the issue? Im using the Logitech Internet Navigator keyboard and the MX 520 mouse..
Do I actually need to download drivers from Logitech? I never had to do this ever since I got these 3 years ago...

Have you tested with different USB ports?
Can you test with a generic keyboard and mouse?
It might be a bios issue or you might need to download any available Logitech drivers.
In Device Manager, you might be able to let win7 update the drivers for your mouse and keyboard.

Re: Help, my Keyboard/Mouse freezing a lot...

i cant download drivers from logitech... the hardware is too old, doesnt have win7 drivers.. when I select Vista drivers, it says its already included with windows..

in device manager, it says HID Compliant keyboard/mouse

in my BIOS, ive enabled all USB ports, legacy usb port, usb mouse/keyboard... anything to do with USB, ive turn on.. lol was I not suppose to?

Re: Help, my Keyboard/Mouse freezing a lot...

        Once again:
1, have you tested with different USB ports?
        2. Can you borrow a generic usb keyboard and mouse to test with?

Test every available USB port to see if it helps.
Make sure that you are plugging into a USB 2.0 port and not a combo USB 2.0/3.0 port (if your motherboard has them).

Having "everything" enabled might be part of the problem, but it shouldn't be, in theory anyway.

Sometimes there are compatibility issues with some hardware with some motherboards.
