Is there some sort of a connection or adapter to connect a 1.44 floppy drive which has a 34 pin ide connector to a 9 pin usb connector on my motherboard. My new mother board which is an Asus P8Z68-M Pro has no connection for a floppy drive.
Most of the new motherboards dont. Any suggestions.

    Re: Floppy Drive

you could go with something like this: Newegg.com - MITSUMI Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal USB 2.0 Internal USB 2.0 digital card reader with Floppy Drive Model FA404M BLK - Floppy Drives
My advice - never visit a short-url, no matter who gives it to you. You can't trust any source at any time when you don't know your target
Whitey:Snuggles: Zotac Zbox HD-ID40 (Atom d525, worst purchase ever on cpu), Patriot Pyro 60GB (Thanks to Tweaktown Giveaway), 4GB 800' DDR2 SO-DIMM
    Bcube (NAS): ASUS F1A75-I Deluxe, AMD A6-3500 @ 2.1GHz, LSI 9240-8i (M1015) controller, GSkill Ares 1866 8GB blue kit, 4x Seagate SV35.5 2TB, 1x Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB, 1x Samsung HD103UJ, 1x Samsung F4 2TB, Temp. Rebel9 Alu case, Corsair H60, 2x Icy Dock MB973SP-B, NZXT UI01, Enermax T.B. Silence on docks and cpu, Aurum 500W gold PSU. (Draws 65W average, doesn't peak above 100W at any time)

      Re: Floppy Drive

Thanks for your response. However the Mitsumi drive that you suggested still has a 34 pin connector on the back to connect the floppy drive into. The USB connector is only for the Card Reader. It only cost me $15.00 to buy. Ill hold onto it until a connector comes on the market. Thanks again.

          Re: Floppy Drive

Since it doesnt have a board connector, you may just have to get an external usb floppy drive if you have the need.
Strangely enough even the latest hi spec Asrock boards do have a mbrd fdd connector for "enthusuasts".
I have 3.5" drive which is white and a horrible greeny grey 5.25" which I may connect up for that "retro look" after I cover them in carbon fibre vinyl or something !.

Is there something you wanted the fdd for or do you just want to have the option?

The middle pc in my sig bought in 2008, because of the quirky case design the only removable media that can fit internally is a cd/dvd even tho the mbrd has a connector,so I weaned myself off floppies early.
