Sound Blaster Comparison Please

I simply need to know what is different about the EX that makes it worth 90$ more. I checked the SB site, but neither product is listed, everything is ZS or something now :(

The Platinum has the 5 1/2" bay with all the various input / output connectors on it. The Platinum EX actually has an entire external box, with more I/O connections.

whats the 5 1/2 inch bay mean? like someting that comes out of 1 of my CD drive spots, or something that will come out slots in the back?

Yes it fits into a CDROM drive bay (commonly known as a 5.75" drive bay though closer to 5 7/8").

So the only difference is location, the sound quality, how much it effects benchmark results and such are the same?

Yep there should be no difference in sound and performance between the two.
