the alpha is crucial, so i've heard some hype from some other posts on some sites that say something about multiplayer??? is this true, or just some BS.

I don't believe that the Alpha is multiplayer, but the front screen does show "Multiplayer" as an option. Kinda makes one think that multiplayer will be supported in the retail version. :)

I'd almost be willing to bet my life on D3 having multiplayer over LAN and the Net.

And that really is mighty good news. Initial reports were saying no MP for Doom3.

I reckon ID Software would be silly not to include MP.
