I remember seeing a vid a few months ago(was on PCPP)
i cant really remember it. but i think john carmack was there and he was showing off the GeForce 3 and doom3...i remember him sayin that to take advantage of all the latest effects then u will need the geforce 3 (was ages ago so gf4 hadnt even been heard of) but it would run on older cards as well..and it is id remember..id are known for making their games extremely compatible..quake 3 could run on some pretty ancient machines remember.:)
i'll see if i can find the vid to confirm what i said..
think mine was starcraft? or somethin along those lines...
i have fond memories of q2 too..was the first game i played with my state of the art voodoo2:D i was the envy of the school...heh... i'm still stuck with the farkin thing. LOL
I didn't like the original Quake, it was a great multiplayer game but horrible in the single player version :thumbs do
Thanks to Mr. Romero and his "deathmatch addiction"
At least iD are going to release the engine to other developers again, remember, even though Quake II might have "sucked" to you Tweaky, we wouldn't have Half-Life if it wasn't for Quake II :)
