GTA3 Tweaks

Now, I played GTA3 on my PC before, with no problems. But after a format or 2 its now running somewhat slow. The graphics just seem to hiccup. every so often it will slow down. Its not too bad, but bad enough to slam me into a wall when the cops are chasing me. Ive search google for tweaks and havent found anything. It was worse when I was using RGTA, but now Im just using V1.1 and its a bit better. Does anyone know of any secret tweaks out there? Currently Im running it at 640x480x16. In theory, it should run fine. I have all updated drivers and everything. Thanks for any help.

A buddy had this problem, get the NO-CD patch online. The game seems to constantly search the CD for verification or something. Of course my friends problem was with ViceCity, I'm assuming that it's the same. I could be wrong. Couldn't hurt tho.:thumb:
