forum upgrades?

What was being upgraded that the forums were down for most of today? :confused:

Message boards were supposed to be down for half an hour and it ends up taking two days.

And yeah, I'm rather curious as to what the upgrade is. I assume that it's some sort of hack...but I can't seem to find anything. Perhaps it's just on the administrative side of things?

Yes, the updates took a good deal longer than expected, but it is for the protection of all concerned. Just like any piece of software, patches come out that fix vulnerabilities. While they are inconvenient, they really are necessary.

Yeah, now that you mention it, a Quick Reply hack would be a good thing to have here, and it's very easy to install from what I've heard.

hmmm - about the only thing I've noticed is I now see people's sigs again (better go turn those off) and I had to remember my password for logging in - first time in ages! :rolleyes2
