Cheeze Wiz is the best, and is an artifical yellow cheese. And thats it. I like pizza sauce on mine which actually classifies it as Pizza Steak.

It is very greasy, and extremely bad for you, but many people live off them just like Big Macs :) I'd take a cheesesteak over a burger any day though. And just for some more BG on the steak sandwich, you would order it at Geno's (possibly the best cheesesteak place in Philly) like such: "Pizza With" consists of a cheeze wiz steak with onions and sauce. The With designates "with onions".

A regular cheesesteak with provolone and sauce, no onions would be "Provy Pizza Without".

Heh, now all you Aussies will know how to order the best sandwich ever :thumb:
I've got to admit it sounds very tasty! :lips:
I guess Geno's is what one should visit then, is it a single restaurant or some big food chain over America..:?:

My guess is Geno's is a one of a kind. The sandwich is known as a Philly Cheesesteak around here. Provalone or white american cheese is the way to go for me. In addition to the grilled onion, you can also get them with grilled green pepper. :)

Getting back to topic: We Americans are spoiled for many reasons and how much (or rather little) we pay for gasoline compared to other parts of the world is one of them. Of course, much of the price we pay for gasoline is taxes. I suspect the same is the case in Europe, but more so.

Didn't know about the differences in the ranges of octaine ratings. That could have an effect on the pricing too as stated above.

I think the gallon is here to stay, just like the liter. For more confusion England goes by the Imperial Gallon, which is larger than the US gallon and is the equivalent to 4.545 liters!
      :-(

Yea, in this regard, the US is socialist. Since the top 10% most wealthy pay 80% of the taxes, that means that the top 10% pay for everyone's gas and roads.

        Sad...

If we forced gas buyers to pay for their roads and gas they'd use their cars more sparinly and the need for road maintenence would decrease dramatically.

However, we do have a large class of uneducated working poor, and due to the layout of our country, we need cheap transportation for this group to get to their factory jobs. This may sound crazy to a European, but it is not uncommon for a person to drive 50 miles to get to his factory job that pays $10/hour

Interesting read zeradul, I never thought of it like that. I have never been anywhere but US and Canada so I am blinded by our society. One day I hope to experience something else, most likely england.

Eh, if you want to experience England just get in the shower with your clothers on, drink tea, and converse about the royalty :)

JUST KIDDING! Being a former RTCW clan leader, I had a division in europe, and really, they were not that different except for the accents over RogerWilco. I must say I havent met someone from England I didnt like yet.

And Geno's is a one of a kind restaraunt :)

And the reason we pay so less of gas is that we have a bunch of oil resources here in the US, so we dont have to import as much. Europe has like no more oil resources left, so they pay alot to have it shipped into their country, just like Japan has to pay for food as they dont have much land area to grow. The octane defintely has something to do with it also.

I drove to Atlanta about a year ago. I should have flown, even though the gas was cheaper. The only scenery was trees, and lots of them. The south looks a hell of a lot like the north minus the hills and the cold. I love to drive, but 14hours of starring at trees wasnt my idea of scenery :)

I used to live a little south of there, nothin' to look at, trees or otherwise :hammer:

hope it was worth the trip

well, I like the roads in the south.
You may think that there is nothing but hills and trees, but you gotta understand that I can get on I94 going from indiana through chicago to wisconsin (about 100miles or so) and not see a good mile of road and no forest!!! so to me seeing smooth road like that was very nice!!!!
Oh its flat as hell here too, so I enjoy the hills, and the speedlimit!!! (55mph here :( )

a few misconceptions that I would like to change

                                1) it always amuses me to read "gas" when you're talking about "oil"
                                2) Europe has loads of oil resources left - oil is measured in a standard called "Brent crude". "crude" is another name for oil. "Brent" is the name of an oil field offshore Scotland in the North Sea. The North Sea is the largest area for oil and gas volumes in Europe.
2a) Europe is less reliant on oil/gas/LNG imports than the USA.
                                3) Europe is more than one "country".
                                4) The biggest reason oil/petrol/"gas" is cheaper in the USA than in Europe is because of taxes.
                                5) the Octane level is controlled by refineries and is determined by the distillation temperature. It has very little to do with where the oil comes from directly.

On a quick google check I found this website which does a reasonable comparison of prices.
