Re: z77 exteme6 driver question
Did you install/re-install the ASRock Mo/Bo drivers from the DVD?
Did you select the USB [including Legacy USB Support] and Ethernet ports in the BIOS?

Re: Queston regarding SATA ports w/dvd drive that doesn't like AHCI
I've never had to do it myself but that should work OK, you seem to have tried it already w/o problems.

Re: Asrock z77 extreme4. Bios flash failure.
Tacho,
When you rename the bios file I think it should be a .80 file format eg Z77ext41.80, not an exe etc. might have made it quicker.
Not to worry though, you got it done anyhow. LOL
Glad to hear all's well....

Try setting your SATA drives to AHCI in UEFI.

Click on the icon in the quick launch bar and select 'close windows'.
I'm new to Asrock and this worked for me last night.

Re: Asrock z77 extreme4. Bios flash failure.
I Flashed to 1.80 from the 1.3 my new board [Extreme 4] came with.
When I install Catalyst 12.4 for my Gigabyte HD7770C card the system hangs on reboot with BSOD.
I went to safe mode and deleted the AMD driver [regained...

Re: Asrock z77 extreme4. Bios flash failure.
Hi Mate,
I'm new to this UEFI bios and my manual only gives this cryptic sequence as a clue to what it's maybe searching for:
0xF1 Recovery condition triggered by user (Forced recovery)
0xF2 Recovery process started
