    Re: GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS

Hi - I have been doing some beta bios testing on my Z79x -UD3H BK/i5 4690K setup and I would like to provide some feedback.

Today I flashed to the latest beta for my board - F7d and found that it was not as stable (needed slightly more vcore)...

I think your vcore maybe set too low - my i950 needs 1.31 volts for stable 4ghz. Note that you may have to set your vcore bios setting slightly higher to all for voltage droop.

    Re: Boot Issue (GA-X58A-UD3R)

Hi - you need to update to Bios FE or later to fix the start - stop - start bootup. Mine had this problem untill I updated the bios to FE - also fixed a lot of other users start up problems as well.

Just follow the instructions above and use...

    Re: GA-X58A-UD3R - Unstable booting

Thats great - at least you have isolated the issue, thanks for the feedback on your findings.

As you can imagine, its not easy to diagnose PC problems without having hands on access to the PC or being able to isolate parts to test -...

    Re: GA-X58A-UD3R - Unstable booting

Well it sounds like you may have isolated the problem to your video card.

Now for the memory problem - have you tried enabling XMP in the memory profile in the bios, this setting should set the appropriate divider to 1600mhz and set...

    Re: GA-X58A-UD3R - Unstable booting

The next thing I would do is remove/unplug all devices (HDD's DVD drives etc) from the motherboard except for the minimum devices required to boot into bios. So - 1 stick of RAM (Tested and installed in the white coloured RAM slots), CPU, Video card...

    Re: GA-X58A-UD3R - Unstable booting

Since your RAM has not operated correctly, I would be a bit suspicious. Can you check your RAM using memtest - check each stick individually and see if you get any errors.

I also suggest that you check your Ram after loading "optimised...

  • Re: Getting X58A-UD3R + i7 960 to run stock and stable. Voltage help!

I found that even with a mild overclock, if Qpi/Vtt voltage was set too low(i.e Auto), I would get an "Overclock Fail" message during boot-up. Raising Qpi/Vtt up to 1.255v or above resolved the problem for...
