just re-installed XP on a clean drive. during installation, i partitioned the 80G drive into 2 equal parts and loaded XP onto C.
now after i have finished installing, i want to initiate the "D" part of the drive.
i know that its done via "Disk...

hi again.
ok, found the settings and saw that the auto settings for the new sticks were 2.5, where-as the old ones were 3. i lowered it to 3 manually, and inserted all 4 sticks, but ist seems that it didnt help - i still got the beeping noise, and no booting up.

thanks. yeah - the reason i went for 2 more 256's was the budget, so i will see if i can sell them.

DD400 issues
Hi gang
I have had until now 2 ddr400 sticks of 256Mb each in the mobo (see: http://tw.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/...-8IG1000MK.htm ), and all's ok.
i just bought 2 more to put in: also 256mb each, at 400ddr. so i have 4 cards the same, and i have matched...

bios version

i have a gigabyte mobo (GA-8IG1000MK) and apparently there is an update for the bios version.
