According to Reddit, AM4 300/400/500 series chipset AGESA version 1.2.0.A finally fixes the dreaded VID_LIMIT (1.425/1.45V depending on the SKU) that nonsensically gets set when increasing EDC with PBO and was introduced with AGESA 1.2.0.4. Let's hope that Gigabyte manages to roll it out soonish!

Can someone please check if the new BIOS fixes PBO for Ryzen 5000 series? Just set EDC in UEFI 1W higher than stock and observe if single threaded boost is still limited to 1.425-1.45V instead of 1.5V. There is no new UEFI for my x570 Aorus Pro yet, so I cannot test it yet. The issue is present on all...

krato I wouldn't recommend it, since you cannot downgrade your UEFI back to a version that was introduced before gigabyte started using firmware capsules. If you want to properly use PBO, the lower version is a must.

skynetDE There is no CO on 3000 series. It's either regular vcore offset UV or capping EDC or PPT for 3000 series.

GEO147 I had to slightly revamp my 12hr Karhu RamTest stable memory OC after switching from a 3900X to a 5900X, but nothing major. There can be many reasons for your issue: I.e. unsuitable BIOS version/beta BIOS, unstable OC/UV (including PBO + CO), a misconfigured UEFI, (very rare) a bad CPU, which...

Has anyone tested PBO with the new X470/X570 B450/550 AGESA 1.2.0.7 Bios betas? Is the voltage cap when setting PPT higher than stock still there? Were you able to get the same RAM OC/FCLK as before?

I rather wait longer for a stable BIOS version if that means that it's actually tested and resolves some issues. The boards from all competing vendors that have recieved "final" versions with AGESA 1.2.0.7 (and Gigabyte's beta) come with the PBO bug that...

bovcan Avoid using the vSOC, VDDP and VDDG settings from the main page in the bios, they've been broken for ages. Only use the ones within the "AMD Overclocking" submenu that are shown when enabling "SOC/Uncore OC mode", as these options are provided directly from the AGESA.
