    Unexplained Lockups?

Random restarts could be cause by heat or software probs. Check the temps and also go into the system properties/advance/startup and recovery, click on the settings button and under system failure untick "automatically restart" and then get back to us with the temps (room, system and CPU under...

Let's take a vote: All in favor of getting rid of the 7VRXP ver. 1.1 raise your hands. OK, then it's agreed.
I RMA'd mine as soon as ver. 2 came out with new components, a clear admission that ver. 1.1 was defective. I had no faith that ver. 2 would be better and needed absolute stability, so...

The new SIS 648 is also supposed to be very promising, but time will tell. I agree that VIA chipsets are great,...

    replied to Computer problem--Please help!
I had the same prob, that is: no signal to monitor after upgrading from my Aopen GE2 MX 400 AGP card to a PNY GE4 MX 440 card. The monitor acted like the computer was shut off. I put my old card back in and everything is fine again. Obviously it's the video card. The Aopen card is noticably thicker...

If you want the brand of HD in your computer, use the System Information utility. It lists the brand of components.
